If you’re completely lost for marketing ideas for Valentine’s Day, here are five tips you can consider:
- Update your social media icons and profile images for Valentine’s Day. Opt for colors like pastel pink, fuchsia, and burgundy. You can even customize your icons with tiny hearts. Tools like Canva.com are extremely helpful for social media customization tasks.
- Create blog posts in the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day spotlighting love-related topics, from products you love to customers who made your heart melt over the past year. Be creative and ensure your posts are meaningful to your audience.
- Don’t forget about your male customers as Valentine’s Day draws near. Share content on social media relevant to the men folk too, so your marketing doesn’t appear to be favoring the ladies. Think about the conversations you’ve had with your male customers over the past year and use that insight to fuel your Valentine’s Day marketing strategy. Consider topics and activities that matter to your male patrons and include those options in your outreach efforts.
- Consider integrating thank-you cards into your customer service efforts. From tiny thank-you cards you drop into their shopping bag at the checkout counter to thank-you footers on your emails, don’t overlook the opportunity to let customers know just how appreciative you are of their patronage.
- Incorporate Valentine’s Day themes into your social outreach efforts. Offer a love-themed Instagram contest to your followers. Host a love-themed video contest on your Facebook page. Encourage Twitter followers to @ mention your business along with a Valentine’s Day graphic they’ve created and reward the best submission with a special reward.
You don’t need to have a huge advertising budget to integrate Valentine’s Day into your marketing efforts. With a little forethought and planning, you can connect with customers in a truly meaningful way. It’s just a matter of being creative, focusing on ways to make your customers feel special, and then being proactive to ensure all your plans are ready when February hits.
