Rock the houseThe most important part of being an online entrepreneur is not your ability to leverage marketing forms. It is not your ability to pitch and sell. It is your ability to identify — and if necessary, create — a product that has the ability to truly go viral, and spread itself all around the internet. There is a huge surplus of marketers out there — thousands of online marketers competing to sell hundreds of products — but there is a continual drought of products that really excite people.

As an online entrepreneur, your job is to create and market those products. What is strangest about the online world is that the potentially massive product creators — those with… Continue reading the rest of this article...

Is this you? …

  1. Do you have multiple blogs related to your business?
  2. Do you have a business podcast?
  3. Do you submit biz content to article directories?
  4. What about to Hubpages.com and Squidoo.com?
  5. Do you create and upload biz videos to places like youtube.com?
  6. Do you Tweet?

If you answered yes to most (or all) of these questions, have you taken the next step in cross-promoting that content in your Wordpress site? It’s much easier than you think!

Attending WordCamp Denver this last weekend was a real eye-opener, but not in the way I expected.

What amazed me most was the young age of some of the presenters. OK, I’ll admit it. One presenter in particular had me wanting to desperately raise my hand and ask him how old he was. Fortunately, one of the people I was sitting next to did that first. He is a local 16 years old and his name is Dave Moyer, of the WordCast podcast. What a strong stage presence for such an early age! I kept wondering if he had been doing this for years, or if he was one of those lucky people that is born with (or developed early on) a no-fear attitude toward… Continue reading the rest of this article...

wowIn my search for all things Wordpress, I came upon an article that offered up actual visual comparisons of many popular video sharing sites for embedding a video into a Wordpress site. Basically he used the same video, posted it to several video sharing sites, and embedded them into a single article for you to see the quality differences side by side. It goes without saying how helpful it is to see the differences when trying to decide for yourself which video sharing site will produce the best results for your videos and/or for your client’s videos.

I mean, we all know YouTube videos are not ideal for quality, but which ones are? Now you can find out.

The comparison is between:

  • Metacafe
  • Blip TV
  • Revver
  • Google

LinkedIn Applications

Launched October 28, 2008, LinkedIn has some cool new applications available to enhance your profile in many ways. Keep in mind that they are still very new and there might be some glitches, but it looks promising. I like the fact that they aren’t trying to roll out a million applications like Facebook has…OK, a little exaggeration there, but you know what I mean.

So, if you’re feeling adventurous and want to be an early adopter, give ‘em a try.  Please let me know how they work out for you. I’d love to share your experience and thoughts with others.
