A local Colorado Commercial Construction company contacted me to update their outdated static 30-page HTML website to something that was fresh, current, and that their non-website-savvy office manager could maintain. WordPress was a perfect choice. With little in the way of content changes, much of this project was about migrating 30 pages, setting up the navigation structure for project portfolios (something they didn’t have before), adjusting content layout, and training the office manager about using WordPress for their new website. We selected the very clean Essence theme from iThemes.
With nearly 5 hours of website training that we recording while in GoToMeeting, I was able to provide them with the recorded training sessions for future reference for the office manager and others in the office. Final conversion included the new htaccess file with all the redirects to point old site page urls to their corresponding new WordPress pages. That eliminates any loss in traffic, loss in search-ability in the search engines, and confusion for visitors. I also created a custom website header graphic using their logo and address in the company colors.
