As just one of many virtual assistants that support our clients and their social marketing efforts, I would like to encourage a discussion about how this will affect what we do and how we’ll help our clients adjust to these changes.
I’m just trying to wrap my head around the changes and how it affects what I do with my social marketing business clients. Do we know yet the best strategy to suggest?
mind-dump:
1) you need a Facebook profile to create a Facebook Business Page, right?
2) what are the limitations of a Facebook Page that you don’t have with a Facebook profile?
3) what are the benefits of a Facebook Page that you don’t have with a Facebook profile?
4) If you have already built a nice group of business friends in your profile, is it a smart idea to shift all your “friends” from your Facebook profile to become “fans” of your Facebook Page, or should you keep on doing what you’ve been doing by continuing to build your relationships and communication via your profile?
5) for clients that don’t have a Facebook profile yet, do you recommend they develop their brand and relationships via a Facebook Page, and not a Facebook profile?
6) for clients that have a Facebook profile they haven’t really used yet, do you recommend they develop a Facebook Page and focus on their brand and relationship building there instead?
I’m anticipating the answers to 4, 5, and 6 will greatly depend on the answers to 2 and 3.
Anybody else have these same questions running around in their head?
I was on a fact-finding mission yesterday and found some articles on the changes. I still need to sit down and put all the pieces of these articles together. When I do, perhaps the answers to my questions will be clear, but I would still like to open this topic up for discussion.
