I’ve got a new love in my life. It’s a Logitech Harmony Remote.

By AndreaKalli

I don’t normally blog about fun, personal stuff. This time I couldn’t resist. About a month ago my husband and I  “acquired” a new remote control.

Maybe I should start with a little back story. You know those people that have so many home entertainment gadgets but can’t figure out how to start the DVD? Yeah, that’s me. I often found myself eyeballing those fancy remotes at Best Buy that claim they can do it all with the touch of a button. I REALLY wanted one of those, but the price tag kept me from pulling out my wallet.

Enter…Logitech Harmony 880 Remote

My hero.

logitechharmony 300x104 Ive got a new love in my life. Its a Logitech Harmony Remote. It sits there waiting for me in its charger. When I pick it up, it turns itself on automatically. I click the button that says “Watch TV” and all the gizmos and gadgets turn on for me. The same for when I want to watch a DVD. **heavy sigh**

We’ve got the stereo presets set up, the TV favorite channels set up, and even created some custom buttons for other electronic components. It even has a Help Button to figure out some things I’m confused about.

Now I don’t need to call my husband if I want to watch a movie when he’s not home. I’m a happy camper!

And it’s not even the top of the line for the Logitech Harmony Remote series. They’ve got those handheld panel looking things right out of Star Trek. You know the ones I’m talking about, right? They control all the electronics in your home. They’ll start dinner for you and put a load of laundry in the wash.  OK, maybe that’s a reach.
